The Ned Marlborough Pinot Gris 2008

Very easy to drink and a deadest bargain is The Ned Marlborough Pinot Gris 2008! Peachy pink in appearance with similar on the nose; peach kernel and rose petals being very distinct. The palate is very Pinot Gris with a very slippery mouth feel up front with the acid being more pronounced rather than just a presence. The longer in the glass sherbet is also evident.

Lovely balance and complexity to this wine.

  1. Tim, have just returned from NZ and imbibed a couple of bottles of The Ned '09 @ $19.00 NZ. Thought it terrific until bro-in-law pulled out a Huntaway Estate Pinot Gris 2009 from Gisborne, wow @ $20 NZ it was amazing value -put the Ned into perspective as reasonable compared to exceptional value . Trying this sent me hunting for more Huntaway wines. Found their Gewurztraminer and a Reserve Gewurztraminer, both exceptional! One problem, on return to OZ found that the Huntaway wines are not available here! But if anyone is off to the land of the long lost vowel, search for the Huntaway wines, you will not be disappointed. Great bang for your Aussie buck!
